Learning beyond the classrooms
QBS provides regular opportunities for learning outside the classroom. Our students frequently engage in outdoor learning, both on our school campus and in nearby country parks, beaches, and museums throughout Hong Kong.
Through our transdisciplinary approach to learning in our units of inquiry, we seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor experiences to maximize opportunities for creativity and impact. The children enjoy these outdoor activities, are motivated by them, and eagerly seek more.
Students in Year 4 to Year 6 have the chance to participate in camps lasting 3 to 5 days, where they can take part in a variety of local activities such as hiking, water sports, coasteering, and more. During these camps, students learn essential skills, including meal preparation and site care, while working both individually and in teams.
Immersing themselves in new experiences outside their comfort zones helps students build independence and forge deeper connections with their teachers and classmates. Each trip fosters significant growth in confidence, independence, and social-emotional skills.
